Afghanistan
On a trip to Afghanistan in May 2007, Eternal Threads founder and a board member researched ways to help alleviate the extreme poverty and oppression that the Afghan women endure. We are blessed to have a partner in Afghanistan who provides vocational training in jewelry making to several women artisans. We are now offering their beautiful King’s Garden Bracelet and Tear Drop Necklace for sale. Literacy training was provided to the women artisans with proceeds from the sale of these bracelets.
With proceeds from sales in 2008 we have been able to begin development of a carpet-weaving project with nomadic women living in desperate circumstances in deserted villages in western Afghanistan. Watch for more.
